Jessie Doyle is a professional thief and resident of Groundbreaker.
Background[]
A close friend of Ellie Fenhill (although Ellie herself will deny it),[1] Jessie specializes in the unlawful acquisition of particularly high-end and historically valuable items.
Her most recent job was the theft of the Blood Tear diamond - a diamond worn by an heiress on the Hope. The operation was financed by Udom Bedford, who paid half the purchase price upfront to finance the operation. Unfortunately, the job was a failure as the diamond crumbled to dust the moment Jessie got her hands on it.[2] Jessie was unable to pay back the deposit which Udom Bedford had already paid and Udom subsequently sent a hitman after her to collect the debt. To avoid the hitman, Jessie is hiding in the quarantine section of the Groundbreaker's medical bay, feigning illness by claiming to be infected with a lethally contagious plague, when the Stranger meets her.
Jessie once saved Ellie's life during a smuggling run when Ellie bet the group's point man that she could outrun a mantisaur. When Ellie looked like she was going to lose her bet and be killed by the mantisaur in the process, Jessie killed the mantisaur. As a result of this, Ellie owes Jessie a life debt which she can only repay by helping Jessie with her current problems.[3]
