Background[]
Leonora worked with her husband, Jerome Diallo, on Gorgon when Spacer's Choice was developing Adrena-Time. Her job was "clean[ing] out test tubes till they sparkled".
When Gorgon was evacuated, non-essential workers took part in a lottery to see who would be evacuated in the first wave and who would remain on the planet for later evacuation. Leonora lost the lottery but her husband won. When she wasn't looking, Jerome switched their tickets and gave her his seat on the evacuation ship. She never saw him again.
